Overall, fireplace cleanings are the appointment types that get scheduled most often. It is a rather simple and quick process when done correctly, and here’s what you can expect when you schedule yours.
First and foremost, you can expect the sweep to keep your house as clean as it was when we enter. We will wear shoe covering booties, we will lay down runners and drop cloths from your fireplace to your door, and we will use a HEPA vacuum that was specially made for chimney sweeping. If your fireplace is especially dirty, we may even place a temporary fan at the top of your chimney to create a draft up and out of the chimney, ensuring that your furniture and floors stay perfectly soot free.
After all precautionary cleanliness measures have been taken, we will then begin cleaning your fireplace. We will use a long stiff brush for the internal walls of the fireplace, making sure to remove all creosote (soot) that has built up during each use. If an inspection was scheduled as well, then we will begin that at this point. Otherwise, we will clean up all of our equipment and be out of your hair. The entire cleaning should take no more than 1.5-2 hours.
