What does Independence Day stand for? Would you say it was when the U.S defeated the British to gain independence? Or perhaps it was after the war of 1812 when we were attacked a second time and the White House was destroyed? Or could the fourth of July be the day that the U.S. declared independence from Britain?
Many people have lost sight of the reason for Independence Day. We get busy celebrating with family, friends, picnicking, watching fireworks, attending concerts, carnivals, etc., and generally just caught up in the business of life.
Independence Day was when our forefathers declared their independence 236 years ago. Along with this gutsy move, people have been stepping up to the plate to keep the United States a free nation. During this holiday it’s important to remember these people that put their lives, their family and their freedoms aside to support the freedom of every American. With this in mind, “top hats off” to all of those who contribute or have contributed to this worthy cause so we can live free. This gives our children and grandchildren the choice of pursuing any dream they dream of.
Join us for the Lake Bluff 4th of July Parade “History Marches On”! The children’s parade starts at 9:50 with the rest of the parade following at 10:00. We will be handing out beach balls and walking in the parade while celebrating our nation’s independence with you!
My staff and I at Lindemann Chimney Service wish you a very happy and safe 4th of July! May you enjoy the time spent with your family and friends.
