This November we needed to have our nearly twenty year old gas fireplace and log set evaluated before the winter season. We had seen Lindemann trucks in our neighborhood and decided to give them a call. Our experience was superior starting with our initial phone call to schedule the appointment and following through the installation of a new burner and fire log set. Lindemann technician Scott Davis arrived at our home nearly exactly at the promised time. He was extremely courteous and helpful while being very thorough in evaluating our fireplace. He very carefully answered all of our questions and gave us a range of options. In replacing the burner and log set, Scott actually recommended that we go with the less expensive solution of the range that we had considered. Overall, we were very, very pleased and will not hesitate to call Lindemann again for the services they provide.
This past December 2012, we had a tech from Lindemann Chimney visit our home to clean the chimney and look at our Chimney cap. The tech look his time and cleaned the chimney, using drop cloths through the house to keep the wood flooring clean. I spoke with the tech while he cleaned and reviewed the chimney. I give him 2 thumbs up for explaining the condition of our chimney and what it needed. He gave precise reasons for some of the sealing work that needed to be done and did not rush my questions, or concerns I had with my chimney. I’ve found an excellent company of which I will continue to do business with and refer to my friends.
Many years ago my father had installed a pot belly stove and used the fireplace and chimney to exhaust the unit. Recently my father passed away and to prepare the house for sale, our realtor suggested we remove the stove and return the fireplace to it’s original functionality. The representative from Lindemann thoroughly examined the existing structure and shared concern that the removal might create a safety issue, specifically that it wouldn’t be 100% gas tight. He recommended leaving the stove in the fireplace since it’s a very efficient heater, which can heat the whole house and could be an advantage to house buyers, and suggested leaving it up to the buyers whether they want it removed or not. Most companies encourage you to take action at a cost, rather that advising to do nothing. in today’s environment, this kind of candor is refreshing and admirable.
Even during their busy season, they were quick to make an appointment. In addition, the technician was quick and courteous. We had them inspect the chimney and also provide guidance on whether to use wood burning or converting to gas. With their help, we are going to use wood burning and just placed an order with them for a new fireplace door. I would recommend them to anyone!
I contacted several chimney service technicians and they were either too expensive or couldn’t schedule an appointment for several weeks. Lindemann was quick to make an appointment and finished the job in one visit!
